CREATION FOR MUSEUMS AND ART GALLERIES | 2018/2019

By reworking significant choreographic archives from their careers, three dancers activate their cardiovascular systems until they begin to sweat. Their perspiration is collected, drop by drop, in a hand-blown glass vial. This raises the question of the value we assign to this collective act of sweating, carried out under the gaze of the spectators.

Spectators are guided through the choreographer’s universe by Noémie Saga Hirt, a cultural mediator.

This creation was developed as part of the Hors les murs projects of fOrum culture.

The spectators are invited to wander through an art space, and more broadly, a space of commodification. Like a guided tour, different choreographic tableaux are presented for the spectators to observe. As the audience moves through the space, the mediator reveals the stories behind the dance sequences, their origins, and the intimate relationships the dancers have developed with them. Why did they decide to revisit them for this piece? How do they free themselves from the past?

Following the dramaturgy of their heartbeats, the dancers gradually increase their pace to music with ever-rising BPMs. They then embark on a run that leaves its mark on their bodies, making the physical effort increasingly visible, until they begin to sweat.
