INFO

Eve Chariatte is a choreographer, dancer and artist-researcher based in Biel/Bienne (CH). Her practice explores the relationships between bodies and the environments they move through, at the intersection of dance and ecosomatic practices. Her works approach choreography as a way of entering into relation with an environment, transforming a group’s qualities of attention, and experimenting with other ways of inhabiting the world, both outdoors and in the theatre.

Her choreographic research and creations take the human body as their material, bringing it into relation with other elements of the living world. Bodies thus begin to conspire — in the literal sense of breathing together — and, through analogy, bring forth constellations of knowledge and sensations. The cardiac system and sweat, the diaphragm and the atmosphere we create and breathe, the fascia network and the night become points to be connected in order to question the environments we shape and that shape us.

Since 2019, she has developed several choreographic works: suons ! (2019), Au cœur nous préférons le diaphragme (2021), Ce qu’on doit à la nuit and NIGHT WALK (2024). In 2025, she was invited to join the ATLAS programme at ImPulsTanz in Vienna and began a new cycle of creation, Can I hold your hand for a while? Through the history of bodies and their representations, she questions the forms of knowledge that have shaped the way we look at, understand and perceive them. Drawing on iconographic archives and critical texts, this research explores the relationships between bodies, medicine and history, seeking to reappropriate these images and narratives by proposing new associations: sewing rather than cutting.

Alongside her choreographic work, she develops contexts for research and encounters between artistic practices. She co-organises several artistic residencies in Switzerland and Luxembourg and is currently involved in programming an off-space with the KEINE KRONE collective at the Ancienne Couronne in the old town of Biel/Bienne. In 2024, she founded MALVAUX – Centre for Ecosomatic Explorations in the Forest in Biel/Bienne with Gregory Stauffer.

Since 2018, she has been collaborating with Joanne Clavel (CNRS, FR) as part of the SILLAGES and RIVAGES research-creation projects. In 2022, she also joined the long-term AVETA research project at La Manufacture in Lausanne, directed by Julie Sermon.

After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Dance at SEAD – Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, she pursued training in research and choreography through the EXERCE Master’s programme at CCN Montpellier, graduating in 2018. Her work has been co-produced by, among others, far° Nyon, ViaDanse CCN de Belfort Franche-Comté, ICI-CCN Montpellier and fOrum culture, and presented at Théâtre du Jura, NEBIA-Bienne spectaculaire, Pasquart Centre d’art, Dance First Think Later, Evidanse, danse !, fOrum culture, far° Nyon, the Life Long Burning programme, ICI-CCN Montpellier, Atelline Lieu d’activation art et espace public Montpellier, RITA Italy, WASP Bucharest, the Magdalena Project, La Manufacture Lausanne, Ticino in Danza Mendrisio, Quartier Général La Chaux-de-Fonds, among others.

She currently works as a performer with Les 3 Points de Suspension and regularly shares her research in teaching and knowledge-sharing contexts, including at La Manufacture – University of Performing Arts in Lausanne, the EXERCE Master’s programme at ICI-CCN Montpellier, and HSLU School of Art in Lucerne, among others.
